Baby Alpaca - the gold of the Incas

Quality: BABY ALPAKA NATUR from ggh is a delicate, wonderfully soft wool made from 100% baby alpaca - the finest fibers that the andena animal provides. It feels soft and cuddly against the skin. The knit shows a nice even, closed stitch pattern. The color chart shows finely graded undyed natural shades from wool white to brown and gray, but also intensely bright, rich tones as well as pastel and earthy colors. The mild natural sheen stands for the high quality of the fiber. The alpaca fiber, which is hollow on the inside, gives the yarn unique thermal properties. It retains body heat better than any other wool when cold, but repels heat on warm days.

Use: A great material for warming but light garments like sweaters, jackets, shawls, also fantastic for accessories like loops and hats.

Tip: The soft fleece is wonderful for jacquard patterns. Garments made of alpaca are the best companions in summer and winter. Alpaca is also particularly suitable for wool allergy sufferers, because the wool wax (lanolin) is missing.
