Quality: This yarn, consisting of 100 percent baby alpaca, is the heart of our Amano collection. It is obtained with dedication and care in the Peruvian highlands and is offered by us exclusively in melange shades. The yarn is easy to work with and is pleasantly soft. Puna gives a soft, very light feel compared to wool and cotton. The mild natural sheen stands for the high quality of the fiber. The alpaca fiber, which is hollow on the inside, gives the yarn unique thermal properties. It retains body heat better than any other wool when cold, and repels heat on warm days, providing a unique heat balance.

Meaning of the name: Puna, which is the meaning for "Andes" in Quechua, the original language of the Incas. Baby alpaca, the finest alpaca fibers, were reserved only for kings in the time of the Incas. Today, every knitting enthusiast can also take advantage of this fiber for their individual clothing.
